It seemed so long to me, this day is August 11th.
I started talking about it two weeks ago, when I wrote: “The sixth day of our trip turned out to be the longest – in terms of intensity. I can’t even believe that we saw so many different sights in one day.”
That's right, having left the camp site "AiL" in the morning, we passed Ongudai and Chike-Taman, Kur-Kechu and Maly Yaloman, the Ininsky Bridge and deer stones, the confluence of the Chuya and Katun, the monument to the fallen drivers, the waterfall and the Behemoth rapids.
And we finally arrived in the village of Aktash, where the guest house “At the Fisherman’s” was waiting for us with the promised fish for dinner.
1.

I wrote “waiting”, but in fact, we still had to find him: the street along which the Yandex navigator led us had been dug up. I had to ask the workers and enter the village from the other side.

But first we stopped at the grocery store. Because on the phone the owner said that there was fish, but we would have to cook it ourselves.
We decided to cook fish soup - the simplest one, with onions and potatoes. We bought potatoes, but there were no onions in the store - they didn’t deliver them.
But in general, I was again pleasantly surprised that the store shelves were lined with all the necessary goods.
3.

We found the fisherman's house with difficulty, or rather, with the help of his son, who drove up and took us to the place. We were offered a choice of 2 rooms: with stove heating and with electric heating. We chose the second one.
4.

There was also a kitchen with a refrigerator, gas stove, and washbasin.
The water was in a large saucepan. But for cooking and tea we used bottled water, purchased back in Barnaul.
5.

The amenities were not even in the yard, but outside it.
6.

In the evening it began to rain, which, of course, worried us: the next day was going to be a difficult day.
7.

Already at home, I discovered that I didn’t rent much in hotels. Apparently, there was no longer enough strength. And that is to say, by the evening my hands were hurting - from constantly holding the camera in my hands. I can imagine how tired Alexey was. In addition, his task was to provide us with accommodation for the night and provide us with food. What did I do, you have the right to ask. Oh, I wasn’t idle either: I prepared food, clothes, washed dishes, created at least minimal comfort.

For dinner we had fresh peled fish soup.
The price, however, was surprising, to put it mildly: for two small fish they paid 286 rubles.
8.

We also bought 4 hot smoked fish - 150 rubles each.
The fish was delicious, I won't say anything. We also had enough for breakfast.
9.

An overnight stay cost us 2 thousand rubles, the bathhouse cost 500.
We washed ourselves, ate fish soup and went to bed.
It rained at night. By morning it seemed to have calmed down, but then it started dripping from the sky again. We began to think: should we go to Katu-Yaryk on the way back? The only thing that stopped us was that overnight stays had been booked and even paid for. It wouldn't be just us who would have to replay the game.
10.

Yes, I’ll tell you a little about the village.
Its name - Aktash - is translated from South Altai as “white stone”.
The village was formed in 1942, when a metallurgical plant was built on a mercury deposit discovered a century earlier.

The village consists of straight streets with rows of two-story houses.
11.

The Chuisky tract runs right through the village, from it to the border with Mongolia only 165 kilometers.
14.

Approximately in the middle of the village, the Ulagansky tract branches off to the left from the Chuysky tract.
This is where we will set off tomorrow to conquer the Katu-Yaryk pass.
15.
